Rex v. Lambert Weir
On May 31, 2024, the accused pleaded guilty to all three (3) counts of Making a False Statement in a Statutory Declaration, before Parish Court Judge, His Honour Mr. Carlo Mason, and sentencing was postponed until June 17, 2024. Counsel for the Defence, Mr. Oswest Senior-Smith, was in attendance.
On June 17, 2024 the accused, having pleaded guilty, was fined thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00) or three (3) months imprisonment for the year ended 2017 and two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00) or six (6) months imprisonment each for the years ended 2018 and 2019. The accused received time to pay the sum of $130,000.00 by July 17, 2024. He was offered bail in his own surety of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00).
